And we’re back in 3…2…1… The camera man points to the interviewer as the intro music plays.
Zatanna: “Was… that intro music there before?”
Interviewer: “No, but I thought it’d be kind of a nice touch you know?”
Zatanna: “Fair enough, I guess. Like I said, I have a few questions for you.”
Interviewer: *puts hand to earpiece* “Yes, yes, we should have time for this. Go ahead.”
Zatanna: “Okay, so… how much of what I am is something you’ve ‘helped me with’ rather than I’ve done on my own? I mean… are you also a magician? Do you help me with my spells?”
Interviewer: *wistful sigh* “If only. Let’s just say, I understand enough to help you make some magic! Usually, I have to type it out forwards then backwards. Also, there’s always a debate on whether you talk backwards or you just say the words backwards. From most of what I’ve seen you just say each word backwards not the whole sentence backwards.” *doing her best Yoda impression* “Not rearranging word order you are.”
Zatanna: *nervous laugh at the impression* “I hate puppets. Is that your doing?”
Interviewer: “No, actually! In the comics, you were given an irrational fear of puppets.”
Zatanna: “Well, if you find out who gave me that, please let me know.”
Interviewer: “I’m not entirely sure if that’s a good idea. But let’s get back to the positives!”
Zatanna: “Okay, so some spells, what else is completely your inspiration?”
Interviewer: “In the comics, you have a shoulder tattoo that for the life of me I cannot identify.” *displays the tattoo on to the screen for the audience to determine* “in DC Bombshells, you have another along your collarbone that says “Mistress of Magic” backward. I decided to keep that one, but all of the others I’ve thought would fit you.”
Zatanna: “Yeah, I can’t complain. I think they’re a nice touch.”
Interviewer: “Thanks! Other than that, I’ve done my best to help you out on some adventures, maybe get you out of a sticky situation or two to some extent. Remember that time you went back to fight Nazi’s? That was a trip! Also, there was the time you sent Shadowcrest into the Marvel Universe! Fun right? Above all else, I try to keep your best interests in mind. Speaking of, I may have added a romantic interest in there for you.”
Zatanna: “I mean, I guess so I-“ *she has now processed the fact that I had added a romantic interest for her* “Um, excuse me?”
Interviewer: “Wellll, let’s just say in the comics you and Detective Dale Colten were partners, but not partners. I thought you two would go well together. It honestly is probably your most normal relationship.”
Zatanna: “Wait, hold on a second. You have a say over my love life?! Okay, that’s it, I’m taking control of this interview!” *she claps her hands then spreads them out from her center*
“Emit pots!”
