Miss Pigglesworth waddled excitedly to Lilydale Pond, ready for her peanut brittle brunch and mid-morning nap. Honeydew Forest had been especially kind to her this week. On her adventure, she had stopped at a small wayside town beside a forest. The innkeeper was a sweet old hare who hadn’t had visitors in quite some time.
They talked for a long time, Miss Pigglesworth told her of her recent adventures and the old hare spared some valuable information about a mysterious light folks had recently been observing in Honeydew Forest. It was a long and magical forest that was nestled besides the Eastern borders of their quaint little town.
So Miss Pigglesworth, being the brave and adventurous sort, decided to investigate. After hours of wandering through a dense forest full of wildflowers and toadstools, she discovered a lost little faerie with an injured wing. She offered her assistance and was immediately rewarded with a plethora of gold!
The faerie disappeared with a poof! Turns out she wasn’t injured after all- just bored and playing games with common folk. Miss Pigglesworth had been the only one brave enough to seek out the mystery light and offer help. The fairy knew Miss Pigglesworth had a good heart.
Miss Pigglesworth spent her spoils promptly on a new bag for snacks, a few books, and a comfortable travel pillow. And so beside Lilydale Pond, she cozied herself up for her little picnic nap.
Right as she was about to drift to sleep, something terrible happened- she met a turtle.
To be continued...
