  When the night was in full swing, the vampiress was out. Weeks had passed now since their last meeting in the apartment, let alone the Burlesque where Lucienne had chosen to lie low on most evenings. Tonight was different; then again there was always a pattern of chaos in her movements. There had to be. Most places she was least likely to find Abram included the city's nightlife. He had never liked the commotion or the music. For being the barbaric figure the coven took him for, Luci knew that a burlesque or a strip club was well below the man's radar.

  Tonight it was the red-lit atmosphere hidden below the storefront, which was positively filled with racing heartbeats and adrenaline. Lucienne was clad in club attire featuring a black cocktail dress with a strap over one shoulder, and black heeled boots. Her hair was curled in loose ringlets, her eyes previously shrouded by a pair of sunglasses that were tucked away for now. A jacket was surely abandoned somewhere in the club.

   She had a trail to follow, and a demoness to sniff out. What was Little Miss Karma doing here, and where were Dom and her now..? Before she could come to terms with their absence from the venue, her attention turned toward the shadowed figure that had been left behind.

  “It’d be a waste of a night, to spend it all by yourself in the corner,” Lucienne commented from the man’s peripheral. Her hip leaned against the edge of the booth Rigel found himself in. She had a cocktail in a curved glass balanced in her fingertips. The red glow of the club worked wonders to bring liveliness to pale skin. It only amplified the ruby hues peering back at him.
