Character Appearance
He appears to be in his late twenties or early thirties, yet there is an unmistakable weariness in his eyes, a depth to his gaze that suggests he has lived far longer than his youthful appearance would indicate. His hair, streaked with grey, gives him the air of someone who has weathered many storms, both literal and metaphorical. Though his face is still youthful and his movements swift, there’s a quiet heaviness about him—an unspoken weight carried from years of hardship, loss, and survival. It’s as if the passage of time has etched itself into him in ways that are not immediately visible, but which become apparent to those who look closely enough. His outward youth is a mask, a shell that doesn’t quite match the man beneath.
Character Personality
He might look like the kind of person you’d steer clear of—stoic, serious, and a little intimidating, with an air of someone who doesn’t suffer fools gladly. But in reality, his tough exterior is more of a shield than a true reflection of who he is. Beneath that rough-and-ready surface, he’s surprisingly warm, with a dry sense of humor and a playful streak that emerges once he feels comfortable around someone. While he can be blunt and direct with people he doesn’t know, those who get close quickly realize he’s far more easygoing and fun-loving than they first expected. He has a way of lightening the mood, even in tense situations, and is the first to crack a joke or pull off some mischievous prank just to see people laugh. Despite his jovial side, though, anyone who’s earned his trust knows that when it matters, he’s fiercely loyal and protective of those he cares about. He’s the kind of person who might joke around one minute and be ready to lay down his life for his friends the next

When he talked about Hosnian Prime, Rey immediately sensed some strong emotions coming from him. She could tell it was a horrible memory and that whatever had unfolded was something Drauf could never change. It would likely haunt him for the rest of his life, just like the day when Rey's parents left her forever.
"I'm sorry," was all she would say, not wanting to pry about it any further. When they were on the ship, the other Rebels turned and nodded when Drauf spoke about his abilities, giving quiet responses like "Sure" and "Okay, sounds good". During the trip, Rey would also close her eyes but in a different way. She was meditating and drawing strength for the battle ahead.
In a couple hours the dropship would arrive at Endor, flying over the trees before promptly landing in a small field. From here, it would be a straight shot to the base, about a 30 minute walk. "We should be far out enough for them to not suspect anything," Rey said as they exited the ship. She took a moment to appreciate the beauty of Endor, the sound of chirping birds and the woodsy smell in the air. She then waited for everyone to leave the ship before walking in the direction of the base.
"Alright, if you say so," Rey said with a nod as she led him to the armory anyway. She wanted a new thigh strap for her blaster and a couple thermal detonators just in case. She offered a couple to Drauf as well. "These aren't for blowing up the base, there'll be more powerful explosives on the ship," she said, just in case she needed to clarify.
When she heard his next statement, she smirked a little and placed a hand on her hip. "Well, you'll fit right in with us then. Many of of us have lost someone we loved to the First Order, or our homes. Either way, you're not the only one who wants some payback," she assured. Checking the time, Rey would see that it was almost time for their ship to leave. "We should get going."
As they entered the ship, Rey exchanged "hello"'s with the other Rebels before sitting down in her seat. There were two rows of seats facing each other on either side of the ship. One door led to the back of the ship where the explosives were, and on the opposite side was the cockpit. The other Rebels were friendly towards Drauf, but they didn't make much conversation and mostly kept to themselves. Soon the ship began to rumble and vibrate before soaring into the air and breaking atmosphere. After a short time, the ship would give a lurch as it made the jump to lightspeed.
{Hello. If you wanna talk plotlines hit me up in private in box messages. And we can discuss it. But I probably wont respond until tomorrow. Sorry about that. I'm just heading offline now.}
Upon hearing his question, Rey would slowly shake her head. The galaxy was full of strange people and places, but so far Rey had not heard this legend and she was interested to know more about it. She then watched as he was able to change the appearance of his hand. She tried her best not to look startled but in truth she had never seen anything like that before.
Rey felt her sense of ease return when he joked and playfully hit her arm. "Well...thank you for telling me. I promise to keep it a secret, just like Leia." With her thoughts now turned towards the near future, Rey crossed her arms and thought about it. "How do you feel about your weapons? We could take a look at our weapon storage and see if there's anything you'd like to bring?" Whether he had anything on him or not, it was probably still worth taking a look and seeing if there was anything he wanted to swap.
As Drauf explained his situation, Rey shifted an eyebrow as she grew curious about what he was saying. Leia maintained a serious expression and seemed like she was hanging onto his every word. Once he was finished, she gave a slow, understanding nod. "Of course. I will personally see to it that this information is kept with the strictest confidence. I will alert your squadron, but no one else. You have my word."
Rey glanced at the floor, and it was clear that she wanted to ask Drauf about this but she knew it wasn't the time. "Well, if that's everything...your ship leaves in an hour. I would use this time to ready yourselves as best you can. Good luck, and may the force be with you," The General would then turn to join her advisors back at the table.
As the two of them went back outside, Rey would make sure no one else was listening before turning to Drauf. "I had a feeling. When you spoke about fighting in the clone wars, it confused me. I knew it didn't add up, not unless you were...different..." she said, clearly trying to choose her words carefully so as to not offend him. Rey caught herself and gave a small shake of her head. "I'm sorry. We don't have to talk about this. You don't owe me an explanation, your business is your own," she said simply, deciding that his comfort was far more important than her curiousity.
She took a moment to contemplate what Drauf was saying. What if Rey had been born into luxury? She had never really thought about it before. All her childhood, she had never longed for riches or a privileged life. All she ever wanted was a family to belong to; that alone meant the galaxy to her. As he spoke about fighting force users and getting a scar, she did glance at his shoulder but tried not to stare too much. "Well, let's hope you don't get another one anytime soon," she said with the slightest of smiles.
Once they were with Leia, the general chuckled slightly at Drauf's response. His remarks didn't seem to bother her or make her feel insulted in the slightest, which Rey was continuously surprised by. "Well, I hope you enjoyed your vacation, because I've decided to place you two on the front lines for the next mission. Rey, are you up for it?" she asked, turning to look at her apprentice. Rey gave a firm nod. She was slightly surprised, but had been training for this exact moment. "Of course."
"Good. Now, if you'll just come this way." She would then lead them over to the communications table. Soon, the hologram would project the outline of a planet, which was no doubt their destination. It wasn't familiar to Rey, but Leia knew it well. "This is the moon of Endor. Sometime after the Empire's defeat, the First Order reclaimed the outpost there and began using it to make and store their weapons. Thanks to the information provided by Drauf, we've discovered the location of several outposts just like this one. However, the base on Endor is smaller and will be easier to target first."
She the turned directly to Rey and Drauf. "Your mission is simple. Infiltrate the base, arm the explosives, and get out of there before the detonation. There will be a few Stormtroopers guarding the weapons, so be ready for a fight. I'll be sending a small squadron with you for back-up. Any questions?" Rey shook her head, and turned to look at Drauf as she waited for his answer.
"Hm," Rey vocalized with a small chuckle before pausing to eat some more. Soon her ration was finished, and she reached for one of the cups of water that had been provided as well. "Back where I'm from...I was lucky to get even a scrap of food by the end of the day. So now, having three proper meals every day almost feels like luxury. I can't complain either, and I think most here would agree."
Lifting her right hand, she used the force to carefully slide his water cup closer towards him. It wasn't just showing off, she was always trying to improve her skills. There was no telling when she would need to use them next. Upon hearing his question, Rey sat back in her seat slightly. "Well, I'm guessing she's reviewed the information you gave with her advisors by now. They must be formulating a plan for our next mission. Who knows? Maybe you'll get to join." Rey smiled and waited until they were both finished before standing up and disposing of their items in the proper way.
She would then lead him down another hallway, and by this point he would have already seen most of the base. The only area that still remained was the communications room; where the Resistance did the bulk of their planning and organizing. There were droids and computers everywhere, with people on headsets communicating to others who were not currently at the base. In the center of the room was a large table, capable of displaying holographic images for everyone to see. Leia and several of her closest officers were seen crowding around the table, discussing something important.
As soon as Leia saw Rey and Drauf, she gave a warm smile and approached them. "Rey, Drauf, it's good to see you. How are you finding everything so far? I hope it's not too uncomfortable compared to what you're used to," she said as she looked at him.
As Rey returned to her room, she would spend some time meditating and reading one of the Jedi texts before going to bed. The night seemed to come and go in an instant, and she couldn't believe it when it was morning already. Rey hardly ever slept well, an unfortunate habit from her Scavenger days, but this was one of the rare exceptions and she was feeling well rested for once.
Not long after getting ready, she heard a knock at the door and went to open it. Upon seeing Drauf, she smiled and nodded. "Good Morning. Did you sleep okay?" She took a moment to stretch her arms a bit and made sure she had everything before entering the hallway. Once Drauf had given his answer she would start to lead him down the hallway. "We're going to attend the meeting with Leia this morning, but first...let's get something to eat."
Rey would then lead him through a door which led to a decent-sized sitting area. A few groups of Resistance fighters were already enjoying their breakfast at some of the tables. There was also a small kitchen where staff could be seen preparing the most recent batch of rations. Rey walked up to the counter and waited until a staff member saw her. "Good Morning, two portions please." Soon, two rations were given and Rey gave one of them to Drauf before finding a seat. The rations consisted of buns stuffed with meat and vegetables. No doubt he was probably disappointed by the lack of variety and eating the same thing two meals in a row, but for Rey...having consistent food every day was a blessing compared to what she was used to.
"Sorry, I know it's not much..." she said with a small shrug before tearing off the package and taking two big bites. "You learn to get used to it," she mumbled afterwards, wondering what sort of food Drauf was used to eating.
While listening to his story, Rey became utterly amazed. She had no idea that he had been involved in the clone wars, a legend that she had grown up on as a child. "You...fought Anakin Skywalker?" she asked, incredulous, as though she could hardly believe it. She continued to smile wide as he shared the rest of the story. It did occur to her that if this was really the case, Drauf would have had to have been in his sixties or seventies by now. And he definitely didn't look that old. Perhaps it was a question for another time.
Once her awe and delight began to wear off, Rey smiled and nodded before taking a couple steps back into the hallway. "Sounds good. My room is the last one on the right if you need anything. Have a good sleep, Drauf. You've earned it," she said before waving and slowly closing the door behind her. As she walked down the hall, Rey couldn't help but wonder about Drauf, and what other fantastical things he might have experienced in his lifetime. This might have been the start of a wonderful friendship, and Rey was grateful their shaky start was now behind them.
As their hands met, Rey kept her smile. She was pleased that he wasn't too offended by her words, not beyond the chance of mending things anyhow. "Yes, well...you'll find that we can be a suspicious lot sometimes," she said with a small laugh as her hand returned to her side. She then listened and nodded when he spoke about finding his quarters. Rey had almost forgotten the task Leia had given her.
"Oh, of course...I'm sorry," she said with a small shake of her head. Rey then turned and started to lead him further into the base down a series of several hallways. Resistance fighters were going in and out of their personal quarters and chatting with friends while they walked. Upon hearing the question, Rey glanced down at the saber before smiling back at Drauf. "Oh, this? It used to be Luke Skywalker's. I sort of...inherited it," she said before turning a corner. The fact of the matter was, Rey still didn't feel like she could properly call it her own. She felt she hadn't earned it yet. One day she hoped to build her own lightsaber.
Rey would then open a door to a room that was currently unoccupied. "Well, this is yours," she said and gestured for him to go inside if he wanted. It was a simple, modest room; with a bed, a small desk, and a closet to store his belongings. On his desk it looked like someone had given him a welcome present: a metal water cannister alongside a couple rations.
